JAPAN MEDIA MINISTRIES (partial listing)

Pacific Broadcasting Association (PBA)
PBA began airing The Light of the World radio program in 1952 -- only one year after the nation's first radio broadcasting service was launched. PBA's current productions include the 30-minute TV program Life Line, which is seen in most of Japan. This program developed out of the earlier ministry of The PTL Club in Japan during the early 1980s. The program's outreach has now expanded to become a broader tool for helping people with various needs, including suicide prevention.

Yamato Calvary Chapel
The media ministry of this dynamic evangelical church began a weekly one-hour satellite broadcast in 1998 as part of the vision of long-time pastor, Rev. Tsugumichi Ohkawa. Becoming the first regularly-aired Christian program on the SKY PerfecTV! DBS service, the "Calvary Chapel Hour" airs Sundays from 7-8 p.m. on the "Better Life Channel" ( 216), free to all subscribers.  The TV program, which features music and the messages of Pastor Ohkawa,  joins with Calvary's long-running "Morning Chapel" (Sundays, 6-7 a.m.) and "Midnight Chapel" (Sundays, 11 p.m.-midnight) radio series on FM-Yamato (77.7MHz) to create one of the most powerful church media ministries in the country.
