TITLE: Christian World News #72
|
|
This
week,
we
bring
you
three
reports.
The
first
is
from
Israel
and
deals
with
the
impact
the
discovery
of
the
Dead
Sea
Scrolls
has
had
upon
on
the
world
of
biblical
scholarship.
We
focus
particularly
upon
the
scroll
of
Isaiah
the
prophet.
Then,
we
bring
you
a
report
from
Iran
about
the
surprising
vitality
of
the
Christian
community
living
there.
Finally,
we
have
a
profile
of
Rev.
E.
J.
Scott,
a
U.S.
pastor
who
personally
experienced
the
terror
of
Hurricane
Katrina
in
2005
and
who
says
that
through
that
experience,
God
gave
him
a
hope
to
share
and
a
new
vision
for
ministry. |

TITLE: The 45th Harvest Time Holy Land Tour Special, Part 3
|
|
This
year's
first
rainy
season
in
Israel
(winter
through
spring)
had
one
of
the
lowest
recorded
amounts
of
rainfall
in
the
country's
history.
However,
during
our
Holy
Land
tour
visit,
abundant
rains
fell.
In
this
program,
you'll
see
the
rains
as
we
travel
from
Jerusalem
to
the
desert
area
of
Qumran.
When
we
arrive,
we
give
some
thought
to
what
it
means
for
Israel
to
be
called,
"The
Promised
Land." |

TITLE: The 45th Harvest Time Holy Land Tour Special, Part 2
|
|
In
the
Bible,
the
place
known
as
the
Elah
Valley
is
famous
for
being
the
location
of
David's
fight
with
the
giant,
Goliath.
Despite
it's
name,
however,
it's
a
surprisingly
spacious
area.
In
this
program,
we
visit
the
place
and
look
it
over
while
thinking
about
the
prayers
of
David
and
his
fight
with
Goliath. |

TITLE: The 45th Harvest Time Holy Land Tour Special, Part 1
|
|
With
this
program,
we
begin
a
new
Holy
Land
tour
series.
In
this
first
program,
we
guide
you
around
the
Judean
hill
country
in
central
Israel.
Our
friend,
Aviel
Schneider,
editor-in-chief
of
Israel
Today
magazine,
moved
his
family
to a
"moshav"
co-operative
agricultural
community
in
this
area
about
three
years
ago.
At
the
same
time,
he
built
a
winery
on
his
property.
In
this
program,
we
pay
a
visit
to
the
Schneider's
place
and
talk
about
wine-making
and
life
on a
moshav
in
the
biblical
hills
of
Judea. |

This week, from
Israel, our first report takes a look at the Ramat
Rachel archeological excavation going on south of Jerusalem. Then, we go
along with a group of volunteers from the U.S. who went on a short-term
mission trip to Mozambique. Our last report is about the people involved in
a spiritual movement that's reaching out to the workers on Wall Street as
they increasingly feel the pinch of the current worldwide economic downturn. |

TITLE: Christian World News #70
|
|
This
week,
we
start
off
by
featuring
the
issues
that
are
facing
America’s
newly-inaugurated
44th
president,
Barack
Obama.
The
Bible
instructs
us
to
pray
for
all
those
who
are
in
positions
of
authority.
With
that
goal
in
mind,
we
first
is a
look
at a
presidential
prayer
breakfast,
then
a
report
on
some
of
the
issues
that
will
challenge
the
new
president,
followed
by a
close-up
look
at
the
abortion
issue
in
America.
Finally,
we
have
a
report
about
a
new
reality
television
production
at
Britain’s
Channel
4
TV,
called
"Make
Me a
Christian." |

TITLE: China Today
|
|
To
follow
up
on
last
week's
program
on
Iran,
we
take
up
the
situation
in
China
this
week.
In
2006,
Nobuo
Takeuchi
wound
up a
missionary
assignment
in
China
that
spanned
17
years.
Currently,
he
heads
up
the
"Love
Asia
Mission,"
which
he
founded
to
continue
his
mission
outreach
activities
in
China.
In
this
program,
we
talk
with
him
about
the
current
situation
with
China's
House
Church
movement
and
about
the
future
of
relations
between
China
and
Japan. |

TITLE: Iran Today
|
|
This
year,
international
concern
continues
to
focus
on
the
direction
the
nation
of
Iran
seems
to
be
heading.
Using
video
produced
by
the
Christian
Broadcasting
Network
in
the
U.S.,
we
look
first
at
the
relationship
between
government
and
religion
in a
piece
entitled,
"Signs
of
the
Apocalypse."
Then,
in a
second
report
entitled,
"The
Young
and
the
Restless,"
we
look
at
the
lives
of
Iranian
young
people.
We
live
in
an
age
in
which
healthy
international
relations
depend
upon
a
proper
understanding
of a
country's
religious
and
cultural
background.
This
program
is
packed
with
information
you
won't
often
see
in
the
mainstream
media.
Don't
miss
it. |

taking
with
them
only
the
basic
necessities
so
as
to
best
focus
on
touching
people's
lives
for
Christ.
Then,
we

TITLE: The 37th Harvest Time Holy Land Tour Special, Part 35
|
|
We've
finally
come
to
the
last
installment
of
this
long-running
series.
In
this
program,
we
visit
the
Garden
Tomb,
located
outside
the
Old
City
walls
of
Jerusalem
and
think
about
the
meaning
of
Christ's
resurrection.
Amidst
the
beautiful
scenery
of
the
garden,
we
pray
that
this
program
will
help
you
focus
upon
the
hope
that
God
is
calling
us
to
and
receive
renewed
courage
and
power
for
living. |
