Jewelry artist Toshiyuki Horiuchi and his wife live in Kōfū City, Yamanashi Prefecture, where he runs Shirogane Jewelry Co., Ltd. Of significant note is the fact that he is a recent winner of the top prize in Japan's National Jewelry Grand Prix contest. He entered this line of work in 1994, but soon found himself far off the mark in regard to his initial expectations. In fact, by the time he was 65, he had amassed a debt of over one billion yen. In this program, we talk with him and his wife about how they were able to make a comeback from such a desperate situation.

In this program, we bring you an address by former Bank of Japan general director Masaru Hayami, as delivered to a meeting of the Akasaka chapter of the International VIP Club. In his address, Hayami tells the story of how he was led to Christ by a believing mother and older brother, shares some of his experiences at the helm of the Bank of Japan, and reveals some of the secrets he learned about overcoming obstacles. GUEST: Kenichi Nabetani

Today's guest is the author of a book published last December which has the provocative title, What If Jesus Were a Businessman? Author Kenichi Nabetani was a long-time employee of a major trading company and is currently the pastor of Nezu Christian Church in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward. The book deals with the real-life problems that business people encounter in everyday society and asks, "How would a Christian look at this? What would a Christian do in response?" Nabetani says that at one time, he himself hated anything that had to do with Christianity. In this program we talk with him about how it was that he became a pastor and why he wrote this book.
