TITLE: The Education We Need Today
GUEST: Dr. Peter Blocksom

In Kyōto's Kyōtanabe City, there is a unique educational institution that specializes in an English and Japanese "dual-language approach" to learning -- Kyōto International University. In 1996, Peter Blocksom was teaching at the Japan campus of Phillips University. However, when the school closed down their Japan branch campus that year, Blocksom decided to take the remaining Phillips students and establish a completely new college for them. In this program, we visit the KIU campus and talk with Dr. Blocksom about the program he's trying to develop, which features limited student enrollment and a Western-style bilingual learning atmosphere.
