TITLE: The World of Violinist Chanwoo Jung, Part 1

In January of 2001, a South Korean exchange student and a Japanese cameraman lost their lives trying to help someone that had fallen off the platform and onto the tracks at the Japan Railways Shin-Okubo station. This incident greatly moved Chanwoo Jung, a South Korean violinist living in Japan at the time. As a memorial tribute to the two, he performed a solo mini-concert at the Shin-Okubo station. This became the event that eventually led him to Christ. In this program, this world-class violinist shares with us the story of how he met the Savior.

In this program, he shares with us some details of that vision and also performs a beautiful selection, "The Imjing River," from one of his recent CDs.

Aketagawa became a Christian in 2003 and was baptized in October of that year. His daughter, Saki Sugawara, who joins us for the interview, is the wife of the pastor of Rittō Christian Church in Shiga Prefecture. In the first part, we talk about Rakugo comedy and also about how Mrs. Sugawara became a Christian. TITLE: More Important Than a Medal
GUEST:
Kōichi Takada

Kōichi Takada received an eye injury during a karate match in high school. Unfortunately, the medicine he was taking for treatment of the injury had the unintended effect of causing him to lose his eyesight completely. Nevertheless, he decided to give himself completely over to the idea of excelling in track-and-field sports. In 1992, he won a bronze medal in the long jump at the Barcelona Paralympics (he's Japan's current long-jump record holder for handicapped athletes). Then, at the Sydney Paralympics in 2000, he won a silver medal as part of the 400-meter men's relay team. Now, at age 39, he's still active in sports and he's here on the program this week to talk about his secrets for living life positively.
