Hula Valley Week
1
#837 "2002 Spring Holy Land Tour #2: From the Sea of Galilee to the Hula Valley"
This was the third day of the tour. After a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, we visited Capernaum, where Jesus often preached, as well as the location of the Sermon on the Mount and the Church of Peter's Primacy. In the afternoon, we spent some time bird-watching in the Hula Valley, north of the Sea of Galilee. It's said that from this area the largest number of migratory birds in the world can be observed -- a good place for considering the idea of harmony between man and Nature.
Mt. Nebo Week
2
#838 "2002 Spring Holy Land Tour #3: Up on Mt. Nebo"
On this fourth day of the tour, we crossed the border near the Sea of Galilee and entered the country of Jordan. Standing on the top of Mt. Nebo (Pisgah), where Moses viewed the Promised Land just before he died, we, as well, took in the magnificent view of the land God promised to His people. We then traveled to the town of Madaba and took a look at a sixth-century mosaic map of the land of Palestine that makes up part of the floor of an ancient church.
Luke Week
3
#839 "The Gospel According to Luke, Part 14"
This is the fourteenth of a multi-part study series on the Gospel of Luke, using video from the "JESUS" movie produced by Campus Crusade For Christ. In this program, we look at scenes from chapters 20 and 22: "Render Unto Caesar," "The Last Supper," and "Prophecy of the Disciples' Failure."

Their headquarters agency, World Vision International, is an non-governmental organization (NGO) founded upon the tenets of Christian charity. Takase himself has visited over 70 countries and has participated in various assistance projects. Doi Week
1
#841 "A Modern-day Martin Luther King Jr." -- Ryūichi Doi
As both a Japanese Diet member and a pastor, Ryūichi Doi was recently invited to the United States to serve as the International Honorary Grand Marshall at a event in honor of slain civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. Doi is the first Japanese person to be so recognized for his contributions to the issues of peace and civil rights. In this program, we show you some footage of the parade in the U.S. and an award ceremony for him held in Japan. Rep. Doi also shares with us about his journey in life up to this point.
Petra Week
2
#842 "2002 Spring Holy Land Tour #4: Petra, Aqaba, and the Dead Sea"
On this fourth day of the tour, we crossed into Jordan and stayed in the city of Petra. To view the ancient ruins, however, we had to travel by horseback. The ruins themselves were featured in the movie, "Indiana Jones: the Last Crusade." The imposing structures, gouged out of sheer rock, truly overwhelms a visitor's visual senses. What does ancient Petra have to say to people today?
Masada Week
3
#843 "2002 Spring Holy Land Tour #5: Masada, Ein Gedi, and Qumran"
On this fifth day of the tour, we moved north from the vicinity of the Dead Sea and headed for Jerusalem. Our first stop was Masada, scene of a fierce stand-off between the Roman army and a group of 900 Jewish rebels in the first century. In a show of nationalistic spirit, the entire group committed suicide just before the Romans broke through to them. Our Messianic Jewish guide, Sarah, talks with us about Jewish history and about her own faith in Jesus.
Luke Week
4
#844 "The Gospel According to Luke, Part 15"
This is the fifteenth of a multi-part study series on the Gospel of Luke, using video from the "JESUS" movie produced by Campus Crusade For Christ. In this program, we look at scenes from chapters 22: "Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane," "The Arrest of Jesus," and "Peter's Denial of Jesus."
Fujii Week
5
#845 "A Colored-ink Artist Paints the Holy Land" -- Katsuyuki Fujii
While working as a fine arts instructor, Fujii began to win awards for his artwork and secured a reputation for excellence. Then in 1997, he resigned his academic position and devoted himself full-time to creative work. To him, it was a dream come true, but for his family, it was the beginning of a new struggle. How did he made it through? And what was it that got him painting scenery from Israel? We welcome him to our studio for a conversation. A set of "Bible Journey" Postcards featuring some of Fujii's paintings of Israel are available for purchase from Harvest Time (set of 6 cards for 600 yen). (Re-broadcast.)

Yossi's House Week

#847 "2002 Spring Holy Land Tour #7: the Holocaust Museum"
On the afternoon of the same day, we think about the road that the Jewish people have traveled thus far. First, we go through the Holocaust Museum (Yad Vashem) and listen to a talk given by our Israeli guide, Sarah, whose own grandmother is a Holocaust survivor. In the evening, the entire group accepts the invitation of Yossi, our bus driver, and pays a visit to his home. As we shared fellowship with this one Israeli family, it became a special time that the tour members will not soon forget.
