Galapagos Islands Week
1
#1237 "Christian World News #79"
This week, our first report is from the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador, the place where Charles Darwin supposedly got the "hint" for his theory of evolution. Christian residents of the island chain, however, are currently in the middle of a dynamic church-planting project that we'll take a look at. Then, from England, we have a report about a Christian believer who was fired from his government job because of discrimination against his faith. Next is a segment about the religious history of America's founding. Finally, we bring you a look at last fall's Feast of Tabernacles celebration from Israel.
Rev. Tomomitsu Shibuya Week
2
#1238 "A Pastor Does Jury Duty" -- Tomomitsu Shibuya

Our guest is pastor of Aomori Christ Church’s Joyful Chapel. Last September, Pastor Shibuya was picked to serve as one of six jurors in Japan’s third trial to use the newly created jury system. In this program, we’ll talk with him about the role of jurors and hear about his experiences during the proceedings.
Dr. William Wood Week
3
#1239 "Don't Be Fooled by the Cults!" -- Dr. William Wood

Recent studies indicate that the damage caused by religious cults is increasing around the world and Japan is no exception. Our guest is founder and head of the Word of Truth Evangelistic Association, which works to help and encourage victims of cult misbehavior. In this program, we’ll look at the characteristics of religious cults and find out how to avoid being fooled by their destructive teachings.
The Mount of Olives Week
4
#1240 "The 45th Harvest Time Holy Land Tour Special, Part 13"
This time, we stand on the peak of the Mount of Olives and look over the panorama of Jerusalem’s Old City. From there, we go down the hill a bit and visit the Church of Dominus Flevit – the place where Jesus looked at the city and wept (Luke 19:41-44). As we visit, Pastor Nakagawa leads the tour members in thinking together about the reason for the Savior’s sadness.
Akihiro Mochida Week
5
#1241 "A Christian Lawyer's Case File" -- Akihiro Mochida

Christian lawyer Akihiro Mochida is the author of a book published last year in December entitled, A Christian Lawyer's File of Favorite Cases. In this program, we take two of the cases from the book and talk about them in detail. Since the law that establishes jury trials takes effect this year, this discussion will no doubt stir an increased interest in our legal system. You definitely won't want to miss this very timely program. (Re-broadcast)

Masayuki Moriyasu Week

This week, we travel to the Moriyasu Shōgi Dōjō in Hyōgo Prefecture's Kawanishi City to interview shōgi master Masayuki Moriyasu. Before retiring in 2004 after 33 years in competition, Moriyasu was rated with a level seven (nana-dan) professional ranking in this game of skill that's known to the Western world as Japanese chess. Both Moriyasu and his younger brother, Hidemitsu (kyū-dan), received training in the game from Kingō Fujiuchi, a disciple of the famous shōgi master, Sankichi Sakata. Now, he operates his own dōjō (training school) to develop future shōgi players. In this program, we talk with him and his wife about the game of shōgi and about their faith in Christ.

Not long afterwards, she met a Japanese man, married him and returned to Japan once again. Currently she works at a major Japanese television station doing translations of Chinese material for news programming. In this program, we talk to Ms. Chang about how her encounter with the Savior happened.
